Why I'm Riding
In my early 20s I had a friend named Hector. He was a bright energy. A burst of color in a sea of dull pedestrians. Despite being a joy to have around, Hector hid his battle with homophobia, depression, and homelessness.. eventually losing his life to suicide. Part of me felt the guilt for not having done enough, however “blame” is rarely the reason. As I grew older & wiser, friends like Hector taught me to endure the emotional rollercoaster, to dodge triggers and release trauma.
With your donation, I can do more this time.
For Hector, for those who choose to live – I will ride 42 miles.
